Primovir Tablet Description
Description
Primovir Tablet is an antiviral medicine indicated for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults and children 12 years of age and older weighing at least 40 kg, who have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and are at high risk of progressing to severe illness. It works by reducing the ability of the virus to multiply within the body, helping to lower the risk of disease progression.
For optimal effectiveness, Primovir Tablet should be started within five days of the onset of COVID-19 symptoms. It may be taken with or without food and should be used exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Complete the full course of treatment, even if your symptoms improve before the medication is finished. Do not discontinue the medicine without medical advice. If your symptoms worsen or do not improve after five days of treatment, consult your healthcare provider promptly.
Primovir Tablet should only be used after a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis and under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Self-medication is not recommended.
What is Primovir Tablet?
Primovir Tablet is an oral antiviral treatment containing Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir. Nirmatrelvir works by inhibiting a viral protease enzyme that is essential for the replication of SARS-CoV-2, while Ritonavir increases the effectiveness of Nirmatrelvir by slowing its breakdown in the body, allowing it to remain active for a longer duration.
