Ivermectin 6mg Tablets Description
Ivermectin 6mg Tablet is an antiparasitic medicine used to treat a variety of parasitic infections. It is commonly prescribed for intestinal parasitic infections as well as certain infections affecting the skin and eyes.
This medicine is indicated for the treatment of Onchocerciasis (river blindness) and Scabies. Depending on the condition being treated, ivermectin is available in oral tablet, topical cream, and lotion formulations. It works by killing the parasites responsible for the infection.
Take Ivermectin 6mg only as directed by your doctor. Using more than the recommended dose or not following medical advice may increase the risk of side effects. Improvement in your symptoms generally indicates that the medicine is working effectively.
For the treatment of Strongyloidiasis, the usual adult dosage (18–64 years) is 200 mcg/kg of body weight as a single dose. For children (0–17 years), the dosage is determined by the healthcare provider based on body weight and clinical condition.
For parasitic infections affecting the skin or eyes, the commonly recommended dose for adults (18–64 years) and children (0–17 years) is 150 mcg/kg of body weight as a single dose, as prescribed by the doctor.
In older adults aged 65 years and above, dose adjustment and careful monitoring may be required, as age-related changes in liver function can affect how the medicine is processed. Always follow your doctor’s recommendations regarding the appropriate dosage.
